Welcoming AHIP Executive VP Elizabeth Goodman to Healthify's Board of Directors

Liz Goodman brings years of policy experience to Healthify's board

Last week, Healthify announced the appointment of Elizabeth "Liz" Cahn Goodman, JD, MSW, DrPH to our board of directors, further expanding our leadership in public policy strategy to help improve health outcomes. Liz Goodman currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and Innovation at America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). She previously held policy leadership roles within MassHealth—where she oversaw $5.5 billion in programming—and WellCare Health Plans.

At AHIP, Goodman is responsible for federal and state government affairs, state policy, and clinical innovation. She will bring significant policy experience to Healthify's board.

Trusted experience, expanded capabilities

As Healthify works to expand both our capabilities and our reach, experienced policy leadership will prove crucial.

"Throughout her more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she has helped advance public policy and market-based solutions that ensure healthcare access and security for people and communities," said Christopher Palmieri, Chairman, Healthify Board of Directors.

"Her addition to the board will help us forge stronger collaborations among policymakers, healthcare payers, providers, and community-based organizations to address social determinants of health and improve the health and well-being of people across the country," he added.

Goodman also leverages an impressive educational pedigree that includes a Doctorate in Public Health, specializing in health leadership, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also brings to bear a Juris Doctorate and Master of Social Work at the University of Maryland, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Political Science from Trinity College, Hartford.

Realizing our vision for the future of SDoH

Adding distinguished leadership to our board is just one of the forward-looking moves Healthify has made in recent months. In early August, we announced our partnership with healthcare data science company Algorex Health Technologies. The partnership empowers us to offer predictive SDoH analytics to our customers and partners, enabling them to gather powerful SDoH insights and address the social needs of their members and patients. The integrated solution leverages population health data, machine learning, and advanced analytics to inform targeted inventions that address social inequities.

Likewise, Healthify announced a partnership with Ride Health earlier this summer to offer transportation to medical and non-medical services for those in need. The company's technology platform captures demographic and mobility information, accessibility needs, and communication preferences to meet each individual's unique needs.

These moves bring us one step closer to a future in which payers, providers, policymakers, and community-based organizations work hand in hand, making data-driven decisions to improve public health. We can't get there without the right technology, the right leadership, and the right partners—and Goodman's arrival brings us closer to making that a reality.
